About

We build the things we recommend.

The Summit AI Solutions is an AI practice for small businesses, run from Katy, Texas. Small enough that the person advising you is the person doing the work, and deliberately built around tools rather than around a technology we are trying to sell you.

How the firm started

The Summit opened in 2025 under a different plan — bookkeeping, which is where the name and the bk in the web address come from. That is not what took hold.

What Seth actually spent that time on was AI automation and coding: learning the tools properly, building with them, and finding out first-hand which ones do something useful and which ones fall apart the moment a real business touches them. That turned out to be the more useful skill, and it is what small businesses kept asking for.

So the name changed to match the work. The Summit AI Solutions builds websites, chatbots, voice agents and automations for small businesses — and just as often talks someone out of buying software they do not need.

Why this way of working

The useful thing about building your own recommendations is that you cannot hide behind them. A tool that looks impressive in a demo and collapses under a real workload is something you find out about by wiring it up, not by reading its marketing page. Every recommendation here comes from someone who has had to make the thing work.

That produces a fairly conservative practice. We ask what happens when the automation is wrong before we ask how impressive it is. We put a human in the loop wherever being wrong is expensive. And we are comfortable telling a client that the tool they read about will not survive contact with their actual process.

How we work

Six things we hold to

These are not aspirations. If we break one of them on your project, say so and we will fix it.

Say no when the answer is no

A meaningful share of the businesses we speak to should not be spending money on AI this year. Telling them so costs us a project and earns us a referral, and it is the only way our recommendations mean anything.

Start small enough to fail cheaply

We would rather run one narrow project that proves itself in three weeks than a large one that reveals its problems in month five. If something is not working, you should find out while it is still cheap to stop.

You should be able to fire us

Everything we build comes with documentation and, wherever possible, uses tools you could hand to somebody else. Dependence on a consultant is a bad outcome even when the consultant is us.

No jargon, ever

If you leave a meeting with us needing to look up a term, we did our job badly. This is a discipline full of language designed to make simple things sound impressive, and we try hard not to participate in it.

No vendor kickbacks

We hold no reseller agreements and take no referral commissions. When we recommend a tool it is because we think it is right, and you are entitled to ask us to justify it.

Automate the process, respect the people

We are not in the headcount reduction business. The engagements that work best are the ones where a stretched team gets its week back and starts doing the work it was hired for.

What we are not

We are a young firm and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. We do not have a wall of enterprise logos or a decade of case studies, and if that is what would make you comfortable, there are larger consultancies who can offer it. What we do have is clients who will tell you what working with us was like — read one here.

What we offer instead is a very short line between you and the person doing the work, pricing scaled to businesses our size, and a refund guarantee on the paid session because we would rather carry that risk than ask you to.

We also do not do everything. We are not a managed IT provider, we do not build general-purpose software, and we do not run marketing campaigns. When a request is outside what we do well, the useful answer is a referral, and that is what you will get.

About the firm

Why does the web address say “bk”?

Because The Summit started in 2025 under a different plan — bookkeeping — and the domain is left over from it. The work went somewhere else: AI automation, websites and the systems small businesses actually ask for. Same founder, same business, a name that now matches what it does.

How big is the team?

Deliberately small. You will work directly with the person doing the work rather than meeting a senior consultant at the pitch and never seeing them again. Where a project needs a specialist we do not have, we say so and bring one in rather than pretending otherwise.

What qualifies you to advise on AI?

Continuous hands-on work with these tools, and delivered projects you can look at — the case study on this site is a real client with a real site you can visit. No certifications are claimed, because we would rather be judged on whether the recommendations hold up. That is a large part of why the assessment carries a money-back guarantee: if the hours are not there, you do not pay.

Where are you based?

Katy, Texas — though every call is over video, including for neighbours. Sharing a screen shows us more of how your business actually runs than sitting in a room does, so we work the same way with a client in Houston as with one three states away.

The fastest way to judge us is to talk to us

Fifteen minutes, free, and you will know within the first five whether we are the sort of firm you want to deal with.
